152 Brigade in Sicily
August 1943

These two photographs have been kindly sent to us by H Jemmeson with the following note :

Amongst my late father's photos are these two, (of course not captioned!) which may be of interest to you even though there are no details of time or place.

Father, Edward Jemmeson, was W.O.1 ASM with REME placed in the 152 Light Aid Detachment attached to 152 Brigade of 51st Highland Division for the Africa, Sicily and D-Day campaigns.

In Nov 1944 he was transferred to the 826 Tank Troop Workshop... presumably this was not part of 51st... but eventually in Dec 45 returned to the 51st with the 153 Infantry Brigade Workshop.

His "de-mob" paper refers to his being with 61 Highland Anti-tank Regiment RA.

I am assuming that the two group photos were taken during the stand down in the Catania area prior to embarkation to the UK but without captions or any other info I cannot guess at the membership of these groups, as there is a range of uniforms and ranks, nor the occasion that merited a posed photo.

E Jemmeson is on the extreme left front row of the smaller group photo [possibly of 152 Light Aid Detachment] and is in the bottom row, third from far left of the larger [presumably of 152 Brigade].

Regards, H Jemmeson
